Secret

Come closer! that's it...lean in...I have something to tell you! I've been discovering all sorts of things recently. Good things too! Like this song: http://seasidewindows.tumblr.com/day/2011/12/16 I've been telling everybody about it, but in case it hasn't made it to your ears yet, now you have no excuse :) I apologize for not having a classier way to link it to you or post it here, but I don't know how...so I'm going with the flow of what I know. It's beautiful, wonderful, genuine, and lovely - worship the way it's meant to be...from the heart. I've listened to it on repeat for days.

"How can I climb higher
To the places where You are?
I want to hear Your whisper
Like the beating of my heart
To see You in Your glory
Like the skies are open wide
To know You in the power
Of Your death and when You rise"

Click on the link, prepare for awesomeness, sit still, and LISTEN. You can thank me later :) Ok, now that you're back, I have something else to share. I've been reading lately. I know, I know, what else is new, but that's just it! It's not what's new, it's what's old. Those old "stuffy" classic books are so cool! I've always loved Jane Austen, but I started reading all those other books you always hear about, yet never read. Like Great Expectations, and Alice in Wonderland. They were alright, but after reading The Secret Garden, I can definitely add Frances Hodgson Burnett to my short list of favorites. In reading her story, I got caught up in the adventure and wonder of it all, and when I least expected it, the God's truth just slammed into me.

"So long as Colin shut himself up in his room and thought only of his fears and weakness...[he] knew nothing of the sunshine and the spring and also did not know that he could get well and could stand upon his feet if he tried to do it. When new beautiful thoughts began to push out the old hideous ones, life began to come back to him...Two things cannot be in one place."

How true!! Thoughts are powerful. You can think life, or you can think death. Whoa. How's that for deep? Hahaa....is it weird that I can give myself a pep talk? Ah well. Until we meet again, Keandra

Sole Adventure

I wrote this post a couple weeks ago before the tornadoes hit, and I never got around to posting it. Blogging is kind of awkward when you don't have internet anyway :) Since I got it back, and I have the time, I thought I'd share it with y'all....

I don't like to shop. I wander around different stores, yet everything looks the same to me. I get overwhelmed with everything screaming at me at once, so I adore shopping online. It's so convenient, and until I get a personal shopper, online is where it's at! And the thrift store. Thrift stores are always interesting. But that's not what I wanted to tell you (aren't I a great multi-tasker? ...what more is a rabbit trail anyway, right?). Here's the big news: I got new shoes!!! Yay me! I know, I know, y'all probably think I lost my marbles, or that I maybe never had them in the first place, but I'm just uber exciterated!!! and no, I did not just misspell "excited". Exciterated is most definitely a word in my book. These shoes are sweet! And God totally wanted me to have them. Here's the skinny. I saw the shoes for $120 in October, but didn't want to pay. I go to store Saturday and try them on - perfect fit! - for $160. I get on smartphone and buy online for $65. Yeah. That's right! I saved $100 in 5 minutes. (Cue dance party music...'cause I'm totally dancin' right now). Isn't God grand? I love Him!! Aahhh...He's so good. This is another reason online shopping is fabulous, better deals! Ya wanna see a picture? Lookee!
Don't you love 'em?
Aren't they just delightfully funky and fun? I love that they have both black and brown leather, because I can wear them with everything! Not that i will, but still ... I could, and that's what's important. That and their comfortable factor, and belive you me, it's a big one! Sheesh. I can't wait until they get here, because I want to go put them on right now!! Your stylin' and profilin' friend, Keandra

Unicorns are REAL!!!!

No kidding. Picture this...a bleary eyed Keandra getting ready for an 8 a.m. class as the Bible app on her phone is reading the book of Job to her in a drawling British accent. Now imagine my surprise when the funky British guy gets to the end of the book and reads, "Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?" What a wake up call!!!! I mean, HELLO! Unicorns ARE REAL!!!!!! I kinda missed everything he said after "unicorn" ... I mean, it's a pretty big deal. Somehow, the unicorn thing didn't make it into the message translation. Thank goodness for King James!! Honestly though. I'm not sure whether "unicorns" are really unicorns (they're wild buffalo in the message translation...seriously), but I'm choosing to believe they are. Because that'd just be awesome to see them walking around in heaven, or get to RIDE one!!! Holla!! I love surprises! I never cared much for unicorns before, but for some reason I do now...I think it's because I feel like I made that discovery for the
world. I mean, I've been bouncing off the wall telling everyone about it, and someone has yet to reply, "duh, i already knew that". And, really, after seeing that photo, who can deny them their reality? Yep, 2012 is going to be a great year :) More discoveries to come!! Keandra
